Jimmy Simpson Foundation Hosting Annual Golf Tournament Oct. 13; Will Benefit Expansion for Safehaven Home for Brain-Injured Adults

Proceeds from the Annual Jimmy Simpson Foundation Golf Tournament at the Lafayette Golf Course will help to fund a 31,000 square foot expansion from 12 to 24 beds.

ROCK SPRING, Ga. (September 13, 2022) — The Jimmy Simpson Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to the traumatic brain injury community, will hold its Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Lafayette Golf Course in Lafayette, Ga. Proceeds from the annual golf tournament will be used for the foundation’s capital campaign, Foundations for the Future.

Foundations for the Future aims to expand Jimmy Simpson Foundation’s beautiful Safehaven facility in Walker County, Ga., from 12 to 24 beds to accommodate the rising need for resources for traumatic brain injured and ventilator-dependent individuals in the Greater Chattanooga Area. Once completed, the expanded facility will grow to approximately 31,000 square feet, with 28,000 of that space dedicated to direct services.

“The Annual Golf Tournament has become the signature fundraiser for the Safehaven Traumatic Brain Injury Program. This year, all proceeds will go directly to the Foundations for the Future Capital Campaign. It is only through the continued support of our valued partners we receive that will enable us to realize our goal of a new building and expanded services. We are so thankful for the many individuals, leaders and organizations who are stepping up to help us make this initiative a success, for the benefit of all who are experiencing a life-changing brain injury,” said Vickie Hodge, CEO.

During the event registration for teams and individuals will begin at 8:00 a.m. Following registration, grab-and-go breakfast will be served. Golf will kick off at 9:00 a.m with a select four shotgun start.

There will be many options to sponsor the event. From the ring of honor sponsorship for $100 to an Event sponsor for $3,000. The cost for participating in the event without sponsorship is $1,000 for a team of four.

The Jimmy Simpson Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all sponsorships are tax-deductible.

ABOUT JIMMY SIMPSON FOUNDATION - ROCK SPRING, GA

The Jimmy Simpson Foundation is dedicated to providing the best quality care for the brain injury community. It was founded as a 501c3 organization by Carol Simpson after her husband, Jimmy, suffered an anoxic brain injury as a result from a fall out of a hospital bed after surgery. While searching for long term placement for Jimmy, it was difficult to find an environment that fostered individuality as well as provided a safe home environment. As with many non-profit organizations, the family saw a need within the brain injury community and stepped up to meet that need.
